Isolated thunderstorms are usually leaves severe damage when it occurs. It only has 15% less aerial coverage of rain, leaving the other 85% absolutely dry of precipitation.

Scattered thunderstorms, on the other hand, are just as the term says— scattered. The duration of this storm is short-lived with lightning striking about 10 times on the ground. Scattered thunderstorms have multicell cluster thunderstorm classification. It means that it’s not as strong as the super cell of isolated thunderstorms. It also only has slight hazards with medium sized hail, weak tornadoes, and flash flooding. About 30% to 50% of the forecasted area will receive precipitation on scattered thunderstorms.
