Let us take a closer look at the other features available with Both the TVs before going in to the comparison.

Samsung 4K UHD JU 7500 Series Curved Smart TV Review – Specification and Features

The Samsung’s JU 7500 series 4K UHD curved smart TV  introduces quality, great features, and at the same time, available at a reasonable price. Some of the main features that come with this TV include quad-core processor for fast processing, contrast enhancer, smart remote, UHD dimming,  and a touch pad and mic.

Picture Quality

Backlit LCDs are usually not an ideal option in terms of picture quality. Edge-lit LCD TVs also share the same problem. The main advantage of the UHD JU7500 series is that it uses an ultra-clear pro screen. This screen lets the light flow through the whole screen making it an exceptional feature when compared with backlit and edge-lit TVs. It is further enhanced by the new peak Illuminator technology which accentuates bright areas of the screen. This enables clear and accurate representation of information on the TV screen. However, with long usage, light bleeding or clouding will be evident in black or dark backgrounds. Samsung TVs are known to have the brightest LEDs in the TV industry, and this TV would be the ideal choice for a bright screen. Some of the additional features include color enhancer for an expanded color range of the image.

Curved Screen

The curve on the screen is not as pronounced as with some of the other TV models available in the market. The slight curve is believed to improve the colors and contrast of the side angles on the screen. But there is notable picture quality improvement when viewing the screen from the front and the center up to 5-6 feet. But the recommended distance of viewing is approximately 12-15 feet. So the curve could be considered as a stylistic feature.

Upscaling

When a standard or high definition video is fed into the TV with the use of upscaling technology, the video quality can be enhanced. This is a feature that differentiates a normal HD TV from a UHD TV as it enhances the content. The 4K UHD TV does an average job, but with the use of a Blu-ray player which has the ability to do the upscaling part, the 4K UHD TV can reduce noise and scale the resolution further, to upgrade the content and produce better quality images.

LED Edge Backlit Technology

In the last couple of years, the light flow through the screen of Samsung UHD TVs has given it a competitive edge over some of its rivals. This is one of the main features of this device. Screen uniformity is a drawback in this model, but this can be compensated by reducing the LED backlight setting to a reasonable level; up to 70% in darker rooms. This in turn will reduce light bleed issues and uniformity considerably. Another advantage of having a bright LED backlight screen is that it can be viewed clearly in very bright conditions as well.

Angled View

When the screen is not viewed from the center, the color and contrast begin to fade gradually. The contrast reduces from around 30 degrees from the center, but an untrained eye would not notice it as much.

Refresh Rate

The refresh rate of the screen is 120Hz, and this is an upgrade from previous versions

Motion Rate

The motion rate stands at 240, and  this is a great benefit  in viewing action scenes. Judder occurs when panning a camera from one side to another. Features like auto motion on the advanced picture menu help to reduce this judder. This may be preferred by some, but it is less preferred by others as it creates a fake cutout effect. If not preferred, this feature can be turned off by using above menu settings.

Auto Motion

The Auto Motion feature on the 4K UHD JU7500 TV can either work in favor or not. By default, this feature is turned on, on the TV. When the TV is involved in presenting live streams, DVD, Blu-Ray, and TV shows, this feature should be turned off as it eliminates the natural background making the scene very unreal. This feature can be switched off by entering the Picture Options. Judder will occur instantly, but it will not be noticeable after eyes adjust. Auto motion is really helpful in viewing 3D and sports content.

Samsung Smart Hub

The Smart Hub suite is an additional feature present with the Smart TV. The user interface is intuitive and easily navigable. The TV page allows individual logins so that different family member can login to their individual preferred settings. The Smart Hub on the 4K UHD JU7500 also comes with a web browser.

Touch Remote

The remote comes with a wider area to control the cursor on the screen, a mic for voice control. The voice control works well, but most users will prefer the touchpad to swipe.

Design, Appearance

The curve has no significant benefit as advertised by Samsung. It does not increase the quality; angle view is not improved either. Mounting on the wall is not so easy due to the curve on the screen. The curve gives the TV a depth of 6.4”. The TV has a silver finish which has been brushed to give it an elegant look. The stand also comes with the same elegance in a t-shape. Although the curved design is believed to be a compensation for poor viewing angles, it also improves the design of the screen giving it an edge over the curved screen TVs.

Additional Features

The sound is powered by 2 10 watt woofers that give out good sound quality. The TV also comes with built-in Wi-Fi, 4 HDMI ports, and 3 USB ports. It also comes with mobile phone mirroring and Game picture mode, especially designed for gamers. Smart view 2.0 lets the mobile content be viewed on the TV screen. UHD dimming helps to produce darker blacks and whites bright.

Value

Compared with other similar featured TVs, the price seems reasonable. It is able to produce great picture quality while having great features like UHD, ultra clear coat without making the price of the TV shoot high.

LG UF  7700 Series 4K UHD TV Review – Specification and Features

Compared with other 4K UHD TVs in the market, the LG UF 7700 Series 4K UHD TVs have a better price. It features TruMotion 240Hz refresh rate and a Magic Remote for easy remote access to your TV. The front panel is clearer, and the depth of view has increased compared to previous models. This edition begins the 3rd Generation of LG’s premium 4K LED TVs. Some of the key features include 4K support, 4 HDMI 2.0 ports, and the screen uses IPS technology to increase the brightness and also enhance the side angle viewing feature. Motion blur has also been reduced by Ultra Clarify. The built-in audio feature inherited by the TV is up to mark. High Definition video can be upscaled to 4K content which is a key feature of the TV. Unfortunately, 3D compatibility is not supported by the TV, which is a surprise and disappointment for some.

4K Upscale

This is a key feature of the TV. The video engine of the TV is responsible for upscaling the input resolution to the resolution that is native to the panel. Generally, Sony has always had an upper hand in this feature but the LG models are not far behind. The problem with 4K content is that not much of it is available now, and this may continue well into the future. So upscaling all types of resolution is a key feature that needs to be built into TVs. When the lower resolutions that are upscale like 480p and 720p process artifacts move up the ladder of resolution even further, the clarity and detail of the upscale 4K content increases. This upscaling feature is the reason why there exists a price difference within the LG models.

Color

The 4K models are able to render more depth and better saturation. This is mainly because of Color Prime technology which uses phosphor color lighting. If the setting are not done properly, the colors may seem over saturated but the screen will be able to produce vibrant natural crisp colors by adjusting the picture settings.

Viewing Angle

The IPS panels used with this TV are better for side viewing angles but produce more artifacts, and black saturation is reduced on the screen compared with nonIPS panels. Contrast is actually decreased a bit, but this is better when comparing to other screen technologies in the market.

TruMotion

This feature is best for sports programs but otherwise should be turned off as removing many background blur gives the picture a fake look. This feature is not at all ideal for Blu-Ray

WebOS 2.0

The Smart TV functions are powered by WebOS 2.0. Boot up of the system has speeded up compared to previous versions. The interface has been designed in a simpler and more intuitive manner. The Magic remote lets the user point and click. There are many options available and Netflix, GoPro and HSN are only a few examples. The streaming ability has been developed, and the buffering has been reduced making the stream smooth.

Design, Appearance

The TV comes with a half inch bezel frame. There is an indention on the bezel which gives it an expensive look.

Value

The price of the TV is competitive. This price can be expected to further drop in the future.
