Galaxy S6 Edge Review- Features and Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is a premium member of the S6 family. It can be classified as a designer version of the Galaxy S6. This phone is the first ever to be designed as a dual curved display smartphone. The design upgrade comes with a heavy price tag compared with Samsung Galaxy S6. The phone is slim and narrow but due to the curved edges it sometimes feels uncomfortable in the hand.

Display

The screen of the Galaxy S6 Edge is a QHD 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution which is one of the best screens available with smartphones. The screen size is 5.1 inches, and pixel density is equal to 577ppi. The display is powered by Super AMOLED technology. The screen to body ratio is 71.75% and made of scratch resistant Gorilla glass which is 80% more durable than conventional glass. The display is high resolution and produces crisp and clear images.

Processor

The processor housed by the Galaxy S6 Edge is the Exynos 7420 processor. The specialty of this processor is that it has less over-heating issues compared with its counterpart, Snapdragon 810 Chipset.

Storage

Galaxy S6 does not support a MicroSD slot, which is a disadvantage when the memory needs to be expanded. There are many online storage facilities available as an alternative, however.

The Sloping Edges

These edges are not there just for the design but also support some functions when watching videos.

Camera Features

The cameras produced by Samsung have always been one of their best, and the Galaxy S6 Edge is no exception. The rear camera is capable of shooting photos at 16 megapixels. There are many devices that are capable of the same numbers but the image processing done by the Samsung designed software is what sets it apart from the rest.

The image optimization feature of the Galaxy S6 empowers the camera to capture great images during daytime as well night time. The front snapper camera is a 5 megapixels and image resolution is supported up to 2592 x 1944 pixels at an aspect ratio of 4:3. This is especially great for video calling and selfies.
