HTC and Samsung are two well entrenched players in 4G segment that have launched their latest 4G models called Inspire 4G and Galaxy S 4G respectively. Both are high end smartphones loaded with features. HTC Inspire 4G

HTC has developed excellence in making larger than life handsets, and with their EVO and Thunderbolt having tasted enormous success already, the company has come up trumps with another winner from its stable. Called Inspire 4G, the smartphone is a delight for the consumers as it is available for AT&T for just $99.99 with a contract, making it extremely attractive gadget for the end users.

Inspire 4G is inspired by company’s earlier Desire HD. Rather it would be correct to call Inspire a carbon copy of Desire HD, made specifically for the consumers in US. Whatever, it has got an attractive uni aluminum body and is thin enough to lure the consumers. It is a little chunky when it comes to weight (5.78 oz) but then you could not get an ultra light phone with all the metal that has been used in its making.

Display is the first thing that attracts people, and HTC has used super LCD display in a large 4.3 inch screen that produces a very good WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution. It is not comparable to the retina display of iPhone but is extremely bright nonetheless. The screen is highly capacitive and responds to the lightest of touches.

The memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using micro SD cards. The phone has all standard features of a smartphone such as accelerometer, proximity sensor, multi touch input method, a 3.5 mm audio jack at the top and the OS rides atop the customary HTC Sense UI, making it a pleasing experience to use the phone.

The smartphone has Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP+EDR, and a full HTML browser supported by Adobe flash player that makes surfing media rich sites seamless. It also has stereo FM with RDS. The smartphone has a powerful 8 MP camera at the back that takes razor sharp images in 3264×2448 pixels and is auto focus with LED flash. You can record HD videos in 720p with this camera. The phone also has the facility of push mailing. Surprisingly there is no secondary camera in this smartphone which is a bit disappointing. The phone supports EDGE, GPRS and HSDPA speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps theoretically and HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps (theoretical).

Inspire 4G is packed with a standard Li-ion battery (1230mAh) that provides a talk time of up to 6 hours which is on the downside.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G

Trust Samsung to be one up on others when it comes to designing and loading their phones with the most advanced features. Its Galaxy series of phones are creating a stir in all parts of the world and the latest offering, Galaxy S 4G continues the legacy of these Galaxy phones. If there is one name that is taken when it comes to super bright displays after iPhones, it is Samsung, and it has continued to use its super AMOLED techniques even in Galaxy S 4G. But there is more to this amazing phone than just its display.

Galaxy S 4G has dimensions of 122.4×64.5×9.9mm making it one of the slimmest 4G phones in the country. It weighs just 118g. It has a screen size of 4 inches that is super AMOLED and produces a resolution of 480x800pixels. The screen uses Gorilla Glass technology and is scratch resistant. The phone runs atop Samsung’s legendary TouchWiz UI that works seamlessly with the Android OS.

The smartphone runs on Android 2.2 Froyo, and is packed with 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor that provides for multitasking and faster downloads at 4G.
