Difference Between Samsung Galaxy S2 (Galaxy S II) and Galaxy S 4G

Samsung Galaxy S2 (Galaxy S II) and Galaxy S 4G are two new additions to Galaxy family in 2011. Galaxy S2 is a next generation phone with dual core processor quad core GPU, 4.3 inches super AMOLED plus display, 8MP camera with dual flash at rear and 2MP at the front, HD video recording at 1080p and runs Anndroid 2.3 (Honeycomb) with the new TouchWiz 4.0. Galaxy S II (or Galaxy S2) is the world’s thinnest phone today, measuring only 8.49 mm. It’s faster and gives better viewing experience than its predecessor Galaxy S. The super AMOLED plus display is highly responsive and has a better viewing angle than its predecessor. Samsung also introduces a new personalizable UX on Galaxy S2 which has a magazine style layout that selects the contents used most and displays on the homescreen. The live contents can be personalized. And the web browsing also improved to optimize Android 2.3 fully and you get a seamless browsing experience with Adobe Flash Player.

The additonal applications include Kies 2.0, Kies Air, AllShare, Voice Recognition & Voice Translation, NFC (Near Field Communication) and the native Social, Music and Games hub from Samsung. Game hub offers 12 social network games and 13 premium games including Gameloft’s Let Golf 2 and Real Football 2011.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G runs Android 2.2.1 and support HSPA+ network. At HSPA+ speed backed by 1 GHz Hummingbird processor and Android 2.2 multitasking and browsing are fast and smooth, the call quality also good. The device can be used as a mobile hotspot to connect up to 5 devices at HSPA+ speed.

Galaxy S 4G boast about its 4″ super AMOLED screen with 800 x 480 resolution, which is brighter with vivid colors, light responsive and reduced glare with a wider viewing angle. The Super AMOLED display is a unique feature of Galaxy S series. The other features include 5.0 megapixel auto focus camera, 3D sound, 720p HD video recording and play, 16GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB and DLNA certified. Galaxy S 4G is said to consume 20% less power than its previous models. Samsung claims Galaxy S 4G as an eco friendly device, it is said to be the first mobile phone that is 100% biodegradable.

The phone has a front facing camera for video calling and using the preinstalled Qik application users can make video calls via Wi-Fi or T-Mobile network. However for web based applications such as qik and mobile hotspot users need to have a broadband package from T-Mobile.

As an added attraction, T-Mobile has preloaded many applications and entertainment packages to both the devices. Some of them are Faves Gallery, Media Hub – direct access to MobiTV, Double Twist (you can sync to iTunes over Wi-Fi), Slacker Radio and the action movie Inception. Amazon Kindle, YouTube and Facebook are integrated with Android. In addtion it has access to Android Market.
