Difference Between Sony Quad Core Next Gen PSP (PSP2) and Nintendo 3DS

Sony Quad Core Next Gen PSP (PSP2) and Nintendo 3DS are the next generation game consoles from Sony and Nintendo respectively. The rivalry between the two gaming giants is set to continue as Sony has announced the launch of its Quad Core Next Gen PSP and Nintendo is coming up with a successor to its DSi with a never before glassless 3D technology in the form of Nintendo 3DS. Both the companies are set to change the rules of video gaming forever, this much is for sure.

Nintendo 3DS

Set to be launched on 26 of February in Japan, and a month later in US and Europe, Nintendo 3Ds promises to be the world’s first 3D gaming device, and the biggest surprise is that 3D effect will be achieved without user wearing special 3D glasses. This Nintendo plans to achieve using stereoscopic technology that gives an illusion of depth to the gamer. What is unique also is that there will be a depth adjuster which will allow the gamer to increase or decrease 3D effect, or he can even turn off 3D effect completely.

There will be a second, smaller touchscreen along with motion sensors, 3D camera and built in Wi-Fi capabilities. Nintendo 3DS will be compatible with all the existing DS and DSi ware. There will be new game titles as well such as Super Street Fighter IV: 3D edition, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and many, many more.

With so much to look forward to, Nintendo 3DS will be priced at $249.99 which is much higher than the existing $130 price tag of Nintendo DS.

Sony Quad Core Next Gen PSP

Sony plans to take handheld gaming to next generation with its super fast quad core processor (Cortex A9) coupled with a high performance GPU (VR SGX 543MP4+) that promises to deliver stunning graphics at a resolution of 960X544pixels which can be the turning point in favor of Sony’s next Gen PSP 2. To counter the propaganda of 3D, Sony plans to come up with as huge 5” OLED touchscreen with an unmatched audio quality with inbuilt microphone and dual speakers. It will have front and rear cameras, built in GPS and Wi-Fi.

Sony has already announced new titles for its next GEN PSP 2 that includes all time favorites such as Call of Duty, Wipeout, Killzone, and many more. Like Nintendo 3DS, it will be backward compatible with all the existing games of PSP.
