In AMI Montessori, the curriculum is the same as conceived by Maria Montessori. Â The purity of the original Montessori methodology is maintained in AMI Montessori. In AMS Montessori, there is a deviation from the original Montessori methodology. The teachers can make use of outside materials, ideas and resources.
When talking of the teacher training, there is a standardized method adopted in AMI Montessori. The teacher training differs from centre to another in AMS Montessori. In AMI Montessori, there is a uniformity of teaching from the first classrooms to the upper levels. This means that even if a child attending AMI Montessori changes school, he or she will not miss the constituency. But in the case of AMS Montessori, one does not have this uniformity of teaching. This means that a child attending an AMS Montessori will not get continuity if he or she changes school.
