Apple iPad 2 and LG Optimus Pad are tablets with amazing features. The special feature in LG Optimus Pad is the 3D camera. Apple has introduced a new application with iPad 2 that turns iPad 2 in to a small musical instrument. However the main difference between Apple iPad 2 and LG Optimus Pad is the operating system. LG Optimus Pad runs on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) while iPad 2 comes with iOS 4.3, an improved version of iOS 4.2.

iPad2 has excellent multitasking feature with the support of high performance A5 processor, 512 MB RAM and revamped OS iOS 4.3. The new 1 GHz dual core A5 processor’s clock speed is twice faster than the previous A4 processor and 9 times better on graphics while the power consumption remains same. Apple has added some new features to iPad 2 like HDMI capability – you can connect to HDTV via AV adapter which comes separately, camera with gyro, 720p video camcorder and a new software PhotoBooth, front facing camera with FaceTime for video conferencing, and introduced two applications – improved iMovie and GarageBand, that’s making iPad 2 as a small musical instrument. However it retained the same display and the same size, but it’s slimmer and lighter than previous iPad, the device weighs 1.3 lbs and 8.8 mm thin.
It’s available in black and white colors and use the same battery as iPad and also priced same like iPad. Apple introduces a new bendable magnatic case for iPad 2, named as Smart Cover. iPad 2 will be available in the US market from March 11th and to others from March 25th. iPad 2 will have variants to support both 3G-UMTS/HSPA network and 3G-CDMA network and will also release Wi-Fi only model.
LG Optimus Pad
LG Optimus Pad is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 mobile processor and Android 3.0 (Honeycomb). Google Honeycomb is latest Android version optimised for large display and high resolution tablets which includes Google eBooks,Google Map 5, Google Talk, Gmail Client and more feature. LG Optimus Pad has two variants, one for US Carrier T-Mobile and the other for global market.
