Blackberry Curve vs Javelin
The original curve series started from Blackberry 8300 series of models. They have reached considerable popularity based on style, features, and reliability. The Blackberry Curve 8300 is such a big improvement from its predecessors ‘“ the 8100 and 8800 — that it is considered on a different league and comparing is futile.
Just when we thought that Blackberries cannot outdo themselves, a Blackberry 8900 Curve is released. This smart phone was codenamed ‘Javelin’ which somewhat separates itself from other Curve models. There are obvious differences in appearance between the 8300 Curve models and the 8900 Curve ‘Javelin’. The Javelin is slightly longer but thinner than the original Curve. The Javelin looks a lot flatter than its predecessor. The screen appears bigger and much sleeker.
The Javelin has a better camera with 3.2 megapixels however it does not include a mirror. The smart phone has a slot for a speaker which is certainly great for collective listening. The Javelin is known for its thinness considering that it sports a full QWERTY keyboard. It has a micro USB port.
Many rave about the Javelin’s browsing speed which is mainly a capability that most people find very useful and appealing. It also has an impressive color display resolution of 480×360 pixels. If there is one thing that people won’t like about this smart phone, is its lack of 3G feature. Many may consider it as a minor drawback but it certainly created some snubs because of that. Nevertheless, people would say that the pros of this phone far outweigh the cons.
The Blackberry Curve has a 2 megapixel camera, considerably less than the Javelin but it has a self portrait mirror. A big drawback is its absence of slot for a speaker. Well, perhaps for some, it may not matter. Its USB port is for mini USB’s. It has a high-resolution 320×240 pixel color display. First of the 8300 Curve series have the absence of 3G capabilities but later on added the feature in its next installments.
As you can see, the Javelin is clearly a Curve.The Javelin has 256 Mb internal memory — double of the later models of Curve, which have 128 Mb.
