Difference Between Bose QC35 and Bose 700 (With Table)

Bose has been a significant contributor to the creation of Noise-canceling headsets. The Bose QC 35 saw its release before the Bose 700 in 2017. Both the headsets are contenders in the international market in the Noise Cancelling Bluetooth headphones.

Bose QC35 vs Bose 700

The main difference between Bose QC35 and the Bose 700 is the design of the headphones. The Bose 700 has a sleeker as well as a more convenient design. The exterior of the headphones does not contain any buttons. There are touch-sensitive gesture pads present that can control things like playback and volume upon sensing a touch.

The price is slightly lesser for this pair.

The Bose 700 is more expensive and is a part of the more exclusive Bluetooth Headphones out there.

The Bose QC cancels a fair amount of noise. It is a vast improvement from the previous Bose QC25.

Bose 700 has been a result of intensive work carried out by sound engineers and hence is better.

Comfort

Bose QC35 provides a lot of comfort. This comfort is because of the types of material that makes the headphones.

Bose 700 does not possess as much comfort. There are problems with the headband and ear cup sponges.

The Bose QC35 does not have a USB-C charging port. This can be an inconvenience.

The Bose 700 is the first Bose Bluetooth headphones to possess the USB-C charging port.

Bose 700 has touch-sensitive gesture pads that allow one to control the headphones easily.

What is Bose QC35?

Bose QC35 headphones are the first wireless headphones from Bose. These headphones were known for their comfort and sound quality. The Bose QC35 was the second addition to the noise-canceling headphones from Bose. The exterior of the ear cups has buttons. These buttons will control the volume. It can also skip forwards or backward. One can answer calls as well using one button.

The call quality is better than most other Bluetooth headphones. However, it is inferior to the Sony Wireless headphones.

The Bose QC35 has a battery life of 20 hours. Once the battery is drained, one can connect the headphones with a cord. This wired option does not offer a noise-canceling option, unfortunately. But the option of connecting it with a wire makes it a good pair of headphones to own on an airplane.

The design of the headphones is relatively simple. The border of the ear cup consists of a soft sponge. This sponge made it a very comfortable experience when wearing it for a long time. The hard plastic headband is large enough to fit the head properly. It can also fold into a smaller compact shape. This shape occurs when the ear cups rotate into themselves.

The noise-canceling features are a result of two digital chips in the ear cup. These chips detect all the sounds that are around a person at an instant. It dampens the unwanted sounds of traffic or trains and allows one to listen to their music without any distractions.

The Bose QC35 underwent modifications to become the Bose QC35 II. The change involves the addition of a new button on the outside. This button accesses Google Assistant, Siri, and Amazon Alexa.

What is Bose 700?

The Bose 700 is a more recent addition to the Bose family. This pair of Noise-canceling Wireless headphones compete with the Sony headphones. They have better software that helps in creating a crisper sound quality. It also has an improved noise-canceling feature.

The only disadvantage of these headphones is that the headphones lack comfort. The sponge in the ear cups is rigid and does not sit very comfortably over the ears. It can hurt the ear if it is worn for a long time. In addition to this, the crown of the headphones also does not fit comfortably over the head. It creates a slight pressure over the skull.

The call sound quality is much better. This improvement is because this headphone has eight microphones that pick up sounds and filter the speaker’s voice from the other ambient sounds.

It also possesses touch-sensitive gesture pads that one can tap on two times to pause any audio. If one swipes forward, the next song will play. A backward swipe over the exterior of the ear cup allows one to play the previous song. Swiping up or down will enable one to increase or decrease the volume.

Main Differences Between Bose QC35 and Bose 700

  1. Bose 700 has access to Google Assistant, Siri, and Amazon Alexa. It is not the case with the Bose QC35. However, Bose QC35 II does have access.
  2. The Bose QC35 is more comfortable to wear for more extended periods. It is not possible with the 700.
  3. Bose QC35 has a wired option as well. Bose 700 does not have this option.
  4. Bose QC35 does not have a USB-C charging port. This feature was made possible in the Bose 700 model.
  5. The ear cups of the Bose QC35 model can rotate inwards to form a more compact shape. It is then protected with a case. The Bose 700 cannot create this compact shape.

Conclusion

Bose is responsible for some of the best headphones that are wireless and noise canceling. Both these headphones are great examples of this very feature. Both these headphones’ sound quality and sturdiness make it one of the best headphones in the market. Although the Bose 700 is a little more than the Bose QC35, it still is the better option compared to QC35 when it comes to sound quality. Bose 700 is also better at noise canceling and conference calls. QC35 is better when it comes to the overall comfort of the headphones. It also is affordable and offers quite a few features to go with that price tag.
