Difference Between Canon 4OD and Canon 5OD

Canon 4OD vs Canon 5OD

Both the Canon EOS 40D and the Canon EOS 50D are digital cameras manufactured by Canon. But there are precise features that differentiate both these camera models which go with the Canon EOS line of cameras.

Canon EOS 40D is the semi-professional, 10.1-megapixel, single-lens, digital reflex camera whereas Canon EOS 50D is a 15.1-megapixel, single-lens, digital reflex camera. The Canon EOS 40D was first announced on 20th August, 2007 hitting the market in the end of the month and succeeded the prior Canon EOS 30D. On the other hand Canon EOS 50D was announced on August 26, 2008 and came into the market on October 6, 2008 succeeding the Canon EOS 40D.

The advantage with the Canon 4OD is that it has a slightly high burst speed than the prior models. This particular camera is capable of squeezing off bursts at a speed of 6.5 frames per second with a maximum resolution and image quality. In this context the Canon 5OD suffers a drawback as it only manages to operate at a speed of 6.3 frames per second though it has a higher resolution and a larger processing bandwidth.
