Difference Between Central and Peripheral Nervous System (With Table)

We should always take care of brain so that we can live peacefully. One small mistake in this part will lead to permanent or temporary damage, and the loss will become a huge burden for us. The central and peripheral nervous systems are our body’s parts, and their main work is to send signals to our body so that we can work according to that.

Central vs Peripheral Nervous System

The main difference between the Central and Peripheral nervous systems can be two parts to send signals to our body which can be understood by human beings that are used in the central nervous system. But the peripheral nervous system will serve as a connecting layer while they are sending signals to our body.

The central nervous system has two primary organs of our body. It is used to send all the signals to our body with the help of these two organs. We should take care of our heads so that our brains will function effectively. It has three parts. It has a layer called the skull.

The peripheral nervous system is a body part that will serve as a bridge while the body sends signals. It contains two main parts, which are further connected with the nervous system. It is not only damaged in accidents but on some other occasions as well, like falling from somewhere and all.

What is Central Nervous System?

It has three layers of protection in our bodies. We used our minds to think and process all our activities. But we are often how our brain is functioning and doing all these activities. It uses two parts, and these parts help in all our body movements. Right from the day we wake up till we sleep, all our body activities are determined by our brain, and these signals are sent with the help of the central nervous system.

It works with the help of 3 functions, and all these functions include the activities that are performed by this central nervous system. This nervous system contains cells that are distributed throughout the entire body so that when the brain thinks of something, we can sense it at the nest moment without any delay from our side.

While driving, we should take care of our head because it has the central nervous system, and all our movements will be damaged if our head gets injured. We should be careful while we drive on the road and follow all the safety measures. Once an accident, we can’t be sure whether we can survive or not. Even if we survive, we need the brain to process all the activities, and that could be possible only with the help of the nervous system.

What is Peripheral Nervous System?

It is a connecting area. The brain and the spinal cord are used for sending signals to our bodies. While sending these signals in our body, they will act as a connection. This is even found in animals’ brains and spinal cords as well. These are situated in our body which will help us from further damages with the help of an additional layer called the Vertebral Column.

This nervous system also consists of three parts, and all the parts are further divided into nervous systems only. It is a topic that will be taught for students if they take biology as their mainstream in class 11. Most doctors will study this more in-depth during the study of medicine. Because most accidents are happening in the head area.

But the risk of damage in the peripheral nervous system is considered to be somewhat lower when compared to other nervous systems in the human body. Because this will be protected with some extra layer called the vertebral column. So, it will support humans if they fall into an accident. But it doesn’t mean that they can be free without taking care of their peripheral nervous system. They should take care to avoid short-term problems.

Main Differences Between Central and Peripheral Nervous System

  1. The organs in the central nervous system are two. But the organs in the peripheral nervous system can be two.
  2. The central nervous system is used to send signals to our entire body. But the peripheral nervous system is for sending signals.
  3. The central nervous system is layered with the help of an additional layer called the Skull. The peripheral nervous system is protected with the help of an additional layer called the Vertebral column.
  4. If accidents happen in the part of our head, it will damage the entire central nervous system. But the peripheral nervous system can either get damaged, but it depends on us.
  5. The central nervous system consists of three parts in our body. Likewise, the peripheral nervous systems also consist of three parts.

Conclusion

These are a very important part of our human body, and we must take proper care of them. These parts will often be damaged when we are met with some accidents. But that can be saved if we follow all the safety measures like wearing helmets wherever we go and following all the traffic rules.

But it will not be damaged just because of accidents even if somebody pushes or if we fall at some places. So that we should be careful because once the damage happens, it will become like a headache for us. We have to first see whether this is a permanent or temporary issue so that we can take care of it. If it’s temporary damage, then it can be solved easily.
