Fire red and green leaf Pokemon are two different versions of a video game that Nintendo has presented recently. It has been the policy of the company to present them in twins every time there has been a new version such as Pokemon gold and silver, and so on. There is very little difference between these two versions of the game and only a player who has been playing Pokemon games for a long time will be able to detect these differences. For the benefit of new buyers, here is a brief introduction of Pokemon fire red and green leaf.

Even the storylines are similar and both are set in the Kanto region which is a fictitious part of the Universe where these special creatures called Pokemon are found. To be frank, these versions are just up grade of the earlier Pokemon red and blue. The main difference lies in the number and types of Pokemon that are exclusive to the two versions. These Pokemon are found in either of the two versions and have to be caught to become a master trainer.

Some of the version exclusive Pokemon are Oddish, Eiekid, Psyduck, Ekans, Growlithe, Wooper, Skarmory, Quilfish, Scyther, Shellder, and Delibird in Pokemon fire red. Pokemon that are exclusive to leaf green are Magby, Bellsprout, Sandshrew, Vulpix, Azurill, Sneasel, Mantine, Misdreavus, Slowpoke, and Pinsir. These Pokemon also evolve into different forms and they are not found in the other version of the game.

Another difference in fire red and leaf green is the types of Deoxys that a player gets in his version. These are Pokemon that have distinct nature. They do not evolve into another form and can be caught only by getting an Aurora ticket. In fire red version, Deoxys that are encountered are high on attack, average speed and low on defense. On the other hand, Deoxys found in leaf green are high on defense but have low speed and attack stats.

There are some other minor differences but they do not have any bearing on the player or the game.
