Flickr and Facebook are two social networking sites. Of the many existing social networking sites freely available right now in the internet, it’s no wonder why people from all ages patronizes at least one of them. Perhaps two of the most popular sites would be Flickr and Facebook. With its thousands if not millions of users, sometimes their differences get lost in translation.

Facebook was mainly created to serve as a bridge to connect people to their families, friends and acquaintances. What started as a small college site expanded exponentially which as of present time includes almost everyone in the world. Facebook, lets its members upload pictures and videos, update their status, chat with their friends in their profile list and even play games. Since users are encouraged to use their real name, there is a high chance of them being connected to former friends and mates.

Difference between Flickr and Facebook

Their primary function differs from each other. Flickr is more on photo sharing endeavors while Facebook is more on socializing. Facebook’s features offers a variety of ways in which one can relate to other people, and constantly update their status. It’s easier to post comments on Facebook, as long as you are a member, even if you are not an approved contact of the owner of the profile. However in Flicker, though you may be able to place in your comments, but it requires one to provide their email address and website. Amongst the two, Facebook is more popular and is being visited by million every day. It also allows users to create groups, which can consist of anything and everything under the sun, be it a common interest or an exclusive club.

The main thing here is that people should be socially responsible with their accounts and manage it properly, at the same time we should also respect the opinions of others and not just post any message with defamatory content. After all, these sites are aimed for our digital lifestyle; we might as well lead a clean one.
