The meaning of having is to possess, own contains which is slightly different meaning from the get. Some examples are, we have enough money for the holiday (hold for use) or she has a daughter(possession).
The other use of having is to experience the joy or pain or even to command someone to do something. For example, He has hurt me badly(pain) or this party has been a great(joy), or have Sam report to me immediately!
