HTC Droid Incredible 2 vs Apple iPhone 4
The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is one of the newer phones to come out for Verizon. Let’s see how it compares to the relatively old iPhone 4. The biggest difference between the Incredible 2 and iPhone 4 is the networks they can be used with. The iPhone 4 comes in models that can be used with either CDMA or GSM networks only. In contrast, the Incredible 2 is capable of being used with both CDMA and GSM networks. It is a true world phone that can be used just about anywhere cellular networks are available.
In terms of the hardware, there are a number of differences starting with the screen. The Incredible 2 has a 4 inch screen, which is significantly larger than the 3.5 inch screen on the iPhone 4. But, the retina display of the iPhone 4 sports a higher resolution and a greater pixel per inch density.
When it comes to the cameras, the Incredible 2 also has an edge due to its 8 megapixel camera sensor and dual led flash. The iPhone 4 only has a 5 megapixel sensor and a single LED flash but it can still take pretty nice pictures. Video recording is very similar with identical resolutions of 720p.
A major disadvantage of the Incredible 2 is the very minimal amount of memory that it has. At just over 1GB, it’s just a fraction of the 16GB minimum storage of the iPhone 4. Of course, the Incredible 2 provides a way to increase the memory capacity via microSD memory cards, which is not possible on the iPhone 4.
Lastly, the Incredible 2 uses Google’s Android while the iPhone 4 uses iOS. This is probably one example where iOS has a bit of an advantage. The limitation on multi-tasking that Apple imposed prevents the use from overloading the processor. Android doesn’t do that and unlike other smartphones with dual core processors, the single core processor of the Incredible 2 is relatively easier to overload.
