Solutions have, however, been created, to establish measures and rules to use against internet-based attacks. For the protection of data and enhancement of privacy, solutions such as password managers, security and anti-viruses have been developed. Kaspersky was developed by Kaspersky Lab, which is a cyber-security developer, in 1997 by Eugene Kaspersky and Natalya Kaspersky. It has its headquarters in Moscow, Russia, and is currently known for being the most authentic source of cyber-security solutions worldwide with over 400 million users. Among the products provided by Cyber-security lab include security products for Android, Mac, and Windows, as well as enterprise solutions. 

It has a rating of 100% based on effectiveness when dealing with malware and prevalent threats and does not slow down devices. Kaspersky offers three security packages, specifically for home users, namely; 

  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus- This provides quick scanning speeds and comes in a package of a one year license for one PC, and is recommended as the basic security solution for Windows PC. 
  • Kaspersky Internet Security- This provides internet-based security threats, and offers many features. 
  • Kaspersky Total Security- This is a multi-device internet security platform. 

 

What is Avast?

Developed in 1988 by Eduard Kucera and Pavel Baudis in the Czech Republic, Avast is anti-malware software used in the prevention, detection, and removal of malware and has gained popularity among users. As a marketing strategy, Avast has in the past equipped with anti-malware software for free. It, however, has a rating of 99% based on effectiveness while dealing with malware. 

It has there internet based security solution, namely; 

  • Avast Pro Antivirus- This offers a basic and standard level of protection against sandboxing features and online threats. 
  • Avast Internet security- This offers the dedicated package for online-security threats such as DNS Hijacking and email spam protection. 
  • Avast Premier- This protects from both online and offline threats and is the highest package from Avast, with additional features such as Avast account, data shredder, and software updater.
