Kissing is one of the most natural acts of intimacy between a man and a woman where both partner explore each other in the form of their tongues inside each other’s mouth with lips locked in an embrace. There is another phrase making out that has become common in the western world that represents close intimacy between a couple. There are many similarities between kissing and making out prompting many to feel that the two are synonymous. However, despite the fact that kissing is a part of making out, there are differences between the two acts of intimacy that will be highlighted in this article.
Kissing
Kissing is perhaps one of the oldest and well known acts of showing intimacy with another person. Mother plant a kiss on the cheeks of their babies, fathers kiss their daughters and sons, a young man kisses his date and a husband kisses his wife to show affection and warmth. In the simplest of terms, it is the physical act of pecking the cheek of another person though locking the lips of another person with one’s own is also a form of kiss that is more common among adults of the opposite sex. Kissing is mostly asexual though for a teenager kissing his girlfriend can bring a lot of sexual sensation and satisfaction. Men welcome women in parties by planting a kiss on their cheeks and elder men and women kiss people who are younger to bless them.
However, kissing remains an integral part of lovemaking and sex between two people of the opposite sex.
Making Out
Making out has evolved as a euphemism for having sex with another person. Youngsters ask each other if they made out with their partners on their last dates as if it is some sort of a victory for them. However, sex is not always involved in making out as it can stop short of sexual intercourse. Making out is mostly characterized with a long kiss that is on the lips and not on the cheeks. You get a peck on your cheek from your great aunt, but you lock your lips with your girlfriend getting aroused and exploring each other’s bodies, as well.
What is the difference between Kissing and Making Out?
• Kissing is a way to show love and affection, but it can also be a formal way of greeting. However, making out is a more intimate physical act that involves a long kiss with additional groping of each other’s bodies.
• Making out is a slang term of having sex with a girlfriend. It is an expression commonly heard in campuses though sexual penetration is not a part of making out.
• Kissing leading to sexual arousal and heavy petting along with groping of body parts is what characterizes making out.
• Make out is much more than a kiss though it typically begins with a kiss.
