Lipstick
The earliest Mesopotamian women are known to be the first women who invented and worn the lipstick. They crushed or pressed semi-valuable jewels and utilized them as lip decoration. During the Medieval times, anyone who got seen wearing lipsticks are deemed as whores. The church also banned this cosmetic product, and they believed that lipstick is an “incarnation of Satan.”
Lip Gloss
Lip Gloss was invented by a Polish-Jewish Cosmetician, Max Factor (founder of Max factor & Company). Max desired to make a lipstick that is glossy and shiny for the films. He specifically created make ups for the movie business. The first ever lip gloss was known as Max Factor’s X – rated in 1992. The 1st flavored lip gloss was introduced by Bonne Bell in 1973.
Difference between Lipstick and Lip Gloss
Lipsticks come in various textures and are best in providing a denser and richer color, which last all day long. As for lip glosses, they wear off instantly and should be reapplied regularly. Since lipstick stays longer, they tend to make your lips dry while lip gloss may not last longer on your lips, but they can stay moist and less dry. Lipsticks can make your lips crack while lip gloss doesn’t. Lipstick variations include Frosted and matte while lip gloss variations include Sheer & opaque, sparkling and high shine. When lipstick is applied, it feels heavy on your lips compared to lip gloss.
Lipstick and lip gloss enhance your look. No matter what you choose, it can give protection and moisture on your lips.
