Difference Between Milk and Cheese

Milk vs Cheese

Milk and cheese are very much related. Cheese is a product of milk and so is hard to make out a difference between the two. As Cheese comes from milk, the two have almost the same ingredients, which make it difficult to differentiate between the two.
Milk is a white liquid that is produced by mammals. It is the promary source of food for young mamals before any other food is given. Cheese can be termed as a milk peroduct, which comes in wide-ranging textures, flavors and forms.
Cheese is generally produced through the coagulation cacasein, a milk protein.
The components of milk and cheese are the same. Though all milk contain fat, vitamins and proteins, the components vary from one species to another. While the human milk contains about 1.1 per cent protein, 4.2 per cent fat, 7 per cent lactose and gives an energy of 72 kcal per 100 gm, the cow milk comes with 3.4 per cent protein, 3.6 per cent fat, 4.6 per cent lactose and gives an energy of 66 kcal per 100 gm.
When talking of the etymology, milk has been derived from Old English Mmeolc. Cheese is derived from Latin caseus.

Cheese can be called as a concentrated milk. Generally, cheese also contains almost the same components as that of milk. A 30 gm serving of cheese contains about seven gm of protein and 200 mg of calcium. On the other hand, it takes about 200 gm of milk to provide that much protein, and 150 gm to probvide that much calcium.
