Musical record and musical album are two of the most popular awards given during any music awards night such as the Grammy’s. Both awards are also the most anticipated and exciting result to be announced during such awards night. Little does everybody knows that each of them differ a great deal.
Musical Record
Musical record is a song that is recorded professionally in a studio. An artist, after collaborating with the song writer, producer and manager would then begin to record a track either as a single or for an album. A musical record may consist of one, two or more artist at a time. If two artists are doing the record, then it is called a duet.
Musical Album
Musical album is a collection of music or musical tracks either for a particular singer or band or created as a collection of the greatest hits from different artist. Music album has evolved from vinyl to cassettes, and then moved on to CD’s and recently they can be easily downloaded from the World Wide Web. More often than not, artist only create one album at a time with at least 10 songs.
Difference between Musical Record and Musical Album
Musical record refers to one song while musical album refers to the entire album of a particular singer. For instance, if the award is for record of the year, the award is given to the top grossing song of a singer for the entire year. If the award is album of the year, it refers to the top grossing album of a particular singer. A musical record has an average length of 3-5 minutes while an album should run for more than 25 minutes or consists of 4 tracks for it to be called so.
Both musical record and musical album makes it appearance during music awards making it a must that everyone who has a bit of music in them should learn the difference between the two.
