Nissan Maxima SE vs SL
The Nissan Maxima has two popular trim options, the SE and SL. The main difference between the SE and SL is their intended look and feel. The SE is the sporty model that aims to provide a more aggressive look and feel while the SL is the luxury model that focuses more on creature comforts and a more elegant look.
It is easy to tell the SE and SL models side by side as the former has larger 18-inch rims compared to the 17-inch rims on the SL. It is also easier to spot the SE due to its spoiler in the rear. The SL doesn’t include a spoiler.
But once you go inside the car, you can then see the advantages of the SL model. Most noticeably, the SL model has all leather seats which makes it considerably more elegant than the cloth seats that you get with the SE. It should also fair better with accidental liquid spills. Another thing you should notice is the wooden trims in the SL which are not on the SE model.
Something you should take note of, if you happen to want the best of both combined into one, is the upgrades offered by the dealer. Of course, upgrading the SE to also have the features of the SL would certainly cost you a bit more than either model.
Either way, you still get a great car with the same exact technical specs as both cars are actually identical under their skins. Both the SE and SL have the same 3.5L V6 engine that is capable of producing 290bhp coupled with a CVT (continously variable transmission). Handling is also the same as both cars have the same suspension system.
