What is Roblox?

In 1989, a simple block was programmed in a 2D simulated physics lab by David Baszuckia, called ‘Interactive physics’. It later became the foundation for building Roblox. Students around the world used interactive physics to see how two cars would crash or build destructible houses. Seeing what the teens and children around the world would create was astonishing.

So the founder wanted to replicate that level of capability on a much larger scale. With the help of co-founder Erik Cassel, he began to create the core components that would become the base for the imagination platform. Soon, the online gaming and Game creation Platform was founded in 2004 and released in 2006.

Roblox has the main motive of “Powering Imagination”. The platform became a whole new world and began its expansion in no time. The platform has been continuously working in becoming closer to the vision and imagination with different body structures, expressions, outfits, etc., for the avatars. In August 2020, Roblox had over 164 million monthly active users. Roblox occasionally hosts real-life and virtual events, such as BloxCon, BloxyAwards and the Roblox Developers Conference. Not only that, but it also engages in movie promotions. Recently, Roblox hosted its first virtual concert in 2020.

What is Robux?

The international and solely accepted currency on Roblox is called Roblox. It was formerly known as R$. When Roblox was first launched, it had its currency in the form of Roblox Points. Shortly afterwards, in 2007, Roblox changed its currency into two forms- Tix and Robux. The word Tix derives its meaning from the term Tickets.

In contrast, the word Robux is a binding of the terms Roblox and Bucks. But in 2014, the Tix was discontinued, and because of which Robux became the solitary currency of Roblox. Robux is the so-called Roblox’s predominant currency by the community and administrators or admins.

With the help of Robux, users can get hold of various virtual clothing and items for their avatar from the avatar shop section on Roblox. The items include heads, faces, gear, accessories, T-shirts, shirts, pants, bundles, and animation packs. Even the paid items, including user-created content such as microtransactions and game passes, are sold for Robux in the avatar shop.

There are different methods of earning Robux such as Roblox Premium, Premium payouts, sale of goods, group funds, trading, redeeming digital codes and other former methods. The users can also purchase and exchange Robux instead of earning it.
