San Diego Zoo vs Toronto Zoo | The world biggest Zoo
Excitement will be at an extremely high note if a person gets to know about a chance to visit either one of these places. Both these places attract a very high number of visitors, because of interesting exhibits and events. Apart from the exhibits, they both contribute for conservation and awareness programs. It is indeed, a privilege to discuss San Diego Zoo and the Toronto Zoo.
San Diego Zoo
Located in the City of San Diego, California, USA, the zoo was established in 1916. It is owned by the Zoological Society of San Diego, a private organization. This is rated as one of the most progressive zoos in the world today with more than 4000 animals belonging in more than 800 species. There are eight different and attractive exhibit areas; Elephant Odyssey, Africa Rocks, Urban Jungle, Outback, Lost Forest, Discovery Outpost, Panda Canyon, and Polar Rim. The visitors get to experience some interesting and informative tours through all these exhibits in the San Diego Zoo. There are some other attractive events viz. organized tours through the backstage of the zoo, educational programs, camping at the zoo…etc. The San Diego Zoo has been contributing for the conservation efforts and was awarded the LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for initiating the Arnold & Mabel Beckman center for conservation and research. The zoo is participating in the gorilla conservation program through cell phone recycling with Eco-Cell organization.
Toronto Zoo
Toronto Zoo was established in 1974 by the city of Toronto. It spans over 287 hectares being home for more than 6000 animals, included in more than 490 species. Toronto Zoo is one of the largest zoos in North America. The exhibits are organized and placed according to different geographic regions in the world; Indo-Malaya, African Rainforest Pavilion, African Savannah, Australasia Pavilion, Eurasia, Americas, Canadian Domain, Panda Research Station, and the Tundra Trek. Apart from those exhibits, the Kids zoo, Waterside Theatre, and Splash Island are getting a great attraction from the visitors, especially kids. Toronto Zoo has some interesting tours organized and Zoomobile has been one of the most popular among those. The contributions for the conservation of nature from the Toronto Zoo are well admired and some of their remarkable participations are rescuing of polar bears, breeding and releasing of Black-footed ferrets into wild, active participation on cell phone recycling project with Eco-Cell organization…etc.
San Diego vs Toronto Zoo
Both the zoos, are exciting, attractive, educationally valued, and contributing for conservation. The exhibits are organized differently in the two places. Toronto Zoo is larger and houses more animals, whereas the San Diego Zoo is smaller in size and home for comparatively lower number of animals, but higher number of animal species. Visitor attractions in both places have been on the higher side due to their educational tours, recreational activities and many other exciting packages. Both of the zoos have been contributing for conservation efforts in larger scale, and achieved considerable success. Additionally, both these zoos have been participating in gorilla conservation project through the cell phone recycling project along with Eco-Cell organization.
