Sony Ericsson Xperia ray

Xperia ray is the latest addition to an already expanding family of Xperia by Sony Ericsson. It was announced at communicAsia 2011 in Singapore on 22nd of June. A marvel of technology, Xperia ray is a very slim smartphone that stands at just 9.4mm and weighs a mere 100g that feels incredible in your hands.

Xperia ray measures 111x53x9.4mm and weighs an incredible 100g. Though it reminds one of the earlier Arc, it has many new features. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has a powerful 1 GHz processor with a 512 MB RAM. It has a nice 3.3 inch TFT Reality display riding on Bravia Engine that produces a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The images are extremely sharp and bright with true to life colors. As far as internal storage is concerned, there is 300 MB memory for the users with a 4GB micro SD card included to the pack taking the total above 4 GB. The user can expand it to 32 GB using more SD cards.

Xperia ray is a delight for those fond of clicking pictures as it has a rear 8.1 MP camera with auto focus and Exmor R backlit CMOS sensor. It can record HD videos in 720p. It is equipped with Photo light  flash, image/video stabilizer, face detection, geo tagging and 16x digital zoom. It also has a front VGA camera (0.3 MP) to allow for taking self portraits and to make video calls.

Xperia ray has great Facebook and Twitter integration with Timescape to allow for instant and easy social interaction with friends. It is also well integrated with many other Google services like Google Voice Search and Google Talk.

The smartphone is Wi-Fi802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP with EDR, A-GPS with Wisepilot navigator, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, and a webkit browser that has full flash support to provide for seamless browsing. Xperia arc was announced by Sony in January 2011 and is available since March 2011. It has been a much appreciated smartphone in the high end segment. When launched, it staked a claim to being the slimmest smartphone in the world.

Xperia arc measures 125x63x8.7mm and weighs just 117g. It is certainly one of the most compact and light smartphones around. Xperia arc boasts of a huge 4.2 inch highly capacitive touch screen that is LED backlit LCD. The image resolution stands at a high 480X854 pixels in 16 M colors that makes for an easy reading even in daylight. The smartphone has all standard features like accelerometer, proximity sensor, multi touch input method and a 3.5 mm audio jack at the top. The screen is made of a scratch resistant surface and Arc glides on the legendary Timescape UI seamlessly without any glitches.
