Difference Between Sony T77 and T700

Sony T77 vs T700

The T77 and T700 are two models on Sony’s slim camera line. They have a lot in common in their specifications and only a few things differentiate them from each other. The biggest difference between them would probably be the price as the T700 costs significantly more than the T77. It is up to you to decide whether the differences in the specifications are worth the extra cash that you need to dish out.

The most significant hardware upgrade of the T700 is in its 4GB of internal memory that is already built-in on the device, aside from the memory slot.  The T77 only has a memory slot and no internal memory. This means that if you opt for the T77, you would also need to spend for the pro duo memory card. This lessens the price gap, though not by that much.

The screen of the T700 is also bigger and better compared to the T77. The T700 has a 3.5 inch screen that has 920k pixels compared to the 3 inch screen and 230k pixels of the T77. Although the resolution might not make that much of a difference in devices that are this small, the half inch difference in screen size would surely be appreciated by users. A bigger screen lets you view the pictures better and make better decisions whether the picture you took is good enough or not.

On the other specs, both cameras have the same 10 megapixel CCD sensor and Carl Zeiss lens with 4x optical zoom. Features like the smile shutter and face detection are also present in both devices. They also share the same metallic finish that is both durable and elegant at the same time.

The T77 is a good choice for those who are on a tight budget because of its smaller price tag. The higher price tag of the T700 might put some people off but the 4GB of internal memory and bigger LCD might be enough to sway the user to spend a little bit more. People who already have pro duo memory cards would also be able to save a little bit more money on the T77 as they would not need to buy an extra memory card.

Summary:
1. The T700 has 4GB of internal memory while the T77 has no internal memory
2. The screen of the T700 is bigger and better than that of the T77
3. The T700 costs much more than the T77
