UTI vs Yeast Infection
UTI or Urinary Tract Infection is a bacterial contagion that can affect just any portion of the urinary tract. One of the prime agents that are responsible for this infection is the Escherichia coli. Most of the urinary tract infections can be successfully treated with oral antibiotics including, cephalosporins, nitrofurantoin, trimethoprim, or a fluoroquinolone (e.g., ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin). On the other hand, Candidiasis is commonly treated with antimycotics which are antifungal drugs. Some of the common drugs used are topical clotrimazole, topical nystatin, fluconazole, and topical ketoconazole.
