Wolves vs Foxes
Wolves and foxes belong to the same Canidae family but are different in many respects. There are differences in the size, behavior, and hunting methods.
A fox is medium sized and comes with a narrow snout and fluffy tail. A fox is much smaller than wolves and is even smaller than all others in the Canidae family. Foxes do not like to live in packs but only with two or three companions. Since they have a small body frame, they only hunt small animals and do not prey on bigger animals. Foxes also eat insects, fruits, and berries.
When compared to the fox, a wolf is large. They have a broad and heavy muzzle. Unlike the fox, the wolf is much feared by human beings as they have a more carnivorous nature. Foxes are friendlier to human beings. Wolves live in packs of 6 to 10. They prey on large animals.
Unlike the fox, a wolf howls. Wolves are mainly seen in the northern hemisphere whereas foxes are seen almost everywhere.
When comparing the size, wolves are larger. An adult wolf weighs about 150 pounds and can be about 3feet tall. On the other hand, a fox weighs about 30 pounds and can be about 1 foot tall.
The babes of a wolf are known as pups, and those of the fox are known as kits. While a pup will come in grey, white, brown and black colours, a kit may come in red, grey, silver, and white colour.
The fox as well as the wolf are endangered animals.
